Well, to be honest, I’m surprised it took this long. But then again, it should have taken a while. Building a WYSIWYG HTML5 animation tool - something like Flash that outputs HTML5 and CSS3 - can’t be that easy, if you’re trying to make it good.

Two former Apple employees (an engineering manager who worked on Mail.app and a project manager) under the name Tumult have just released the first one I’ve seen, called Hype. I’m not sure if that name is a clever nod or a big mistake.

I wonder how high they’ll jump from the introductory price of $29. This is one of those times I really wish the Mac App Store had trials…
