Got to visit the Nethercutt Collection this past weekend, in LA. It’s a great collection of vintage cars, musical instrumentation oddities, and a train. I only got to see a large collection of the vintage cars. It was incredible to be able to trace some design hallmarks to their roots. In this series, the support arms for the cloth top of an original horseless carriage becomes decorative chrome on a hardtop Rolls Royce, and the hinge running along the center of a roll-top hood reaches a similar fate.
