Touch Notation, by Matt Gemmell

Matt Gemmell doesn’t blog too terribly often. I like that. When he has something to say, it’s worth listening. He’s a Mac developer who has been focused on iOS for some time now, and I really dig his advice, perspective and style.

He posted today a specification for a visual terminology for documenting touch interactions. It’s really hard to sketch out an iPhone app that includes documenting how the user uses it. He has created a really compelling set of symbols and uses for doing this in a concise, visual way that really looks promising to me.

That says, “Tap and hold for 2 seconds, then drag.” Pretty awesome.
